Street light.....

An old street in my hometown - the oldest city in Norway.

The tower you can see is build as a tribute to the
1000 year jubilee in 1881.

The city is an old viking city and we have several full size examples
of viking ships and smaller boat replicas in our town and now,
at the moment they are building a copy of the Gokstad ship
witch was a grave for a local king and buried near my hometown.

On the top where you can se the tower, there was a fortress, build in the
13. century and there are still some remainings from the old fortress.

The street you see here is named after the king who started to
to build the fortress, "Haakon Haakonsen the old" and he had a son
with the same name - "Haakon Haakonsen the younger".
